Audie Mae Maynard White, 88, of Rt. 2 ,Williamson, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at her home in Williamson of natural causes.

Born February 19, 1924, in Delbarton, she was a daughter of the late Charles Samuel Maynard and Allie White Maynard of Delbarton.

She was married to the late George Monroe White who preceded her in death on August 26, 1992. Also preceding her in death are three brothers, Wayne, Freelin, and Phillip Maynard; and four sisters, Dorothy Helton, Quinnie Chafin, Reba Stanley and Maggie Christian.

Survivors include her son Leslie Howard (Karen) White of Acworth, Ga.: daughter Nolice Elaine (John ) Webb of Williamson; granddaughter, Dr. Hollie Crystal White and her husband PhD Curt of Carrboro, N.C.; grandson, Nathaniel Monroe Hensley of Huntington; grandchildren Bonnie Webb, Sand Fork, and Theodore Webb of Morgantown; great-grandchildren, Jesse and Orin.

Surviving brothers and sisters are Larry Maynard of Warm Springs, Va., Bradley Maynard of Delbarton, and Patty Stewart of Rush, Ky.

After graduating from Burch High School she worked for Island Creek Coal Company at Holden #22 in the company store as a clerk prior to getting married and after marriage, she was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Duncan Fork United Baptist Church and was a loving mother and good to everyone that she met.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 11, at Chafin Funeral Home in Delbarton, with the Rev. Eddie Layne officiating. Burial will follow in the White family cemetery near Chattaroy. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, August 10, at the funeral home.
