STAFF REPORTS

Although free and reduced lunch prices are now a thing of the past, Pike County Schools officials are reminding students and their families that forms are still required.

Students still must return forms regarding the student’s financial information to the schools at the beginning of the school year. School begins for students on August 8, 2012. The forms are similar to those previously provided for the free and reduced lunch program.

The Pike County School District is participating in the Community Eligibility Option whereby every student, regardless of income, is provided a free breakfast and lunch. However, financial information is vitally important, in order to continue that program, as well as, being eligible for governmental funding for other essential programs.

Students are asked to return the forms to their schools as soon as possible after receiving them.
