CHIEF LOGAN STATE PARK — The Second Annual Chief Logan Hunting and Fishing Expo is less than a week away!
This year’s expo, sponsored by the Logan County Chamber of Commerce and the Hatfield-McCoy Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, promises to be bigger and better than last year’s great event.
Frank Addington, Jr., also known as “The Aspirin Buster”, is bringing his unique style of “bow and arrow razzle dazzle” to Logan County. See a baby aspirin shot from mid air — from behind his back! You will see why legendary rock and roller Ted Nugent dubbed Addington, “..the master.”
There will be fun for everyone.
This year’s Expo will feature:
• Chris Walls, world champion turkey caller;
• “Birds of Prey” presented by the West Virginia Raptor Rehabilitation Center;
• A Turkey Calling Contest with Master of Ceremonies Chris Walls;
• Air Rifle Shooting Range;
• Youth Challenge presented by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources;
•Bird Dog Demonstrations with outdoors columnist Bob Fala;
• Hawg Trough;
• Fishing Pond for Children;
• Archery Contest.
The Chief Logan Hunting and Fishing Expo runs July 28 and 29 at the Chief Logan Lodge and Convention Center just off U.S. 119 across from the Crawley Creek exit. The hours are from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday and from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets can be bought at the gate and cost $5 for adults and children age 6 and older. The first 500 children get in free, courtesy of Gatti’s Pizza at the Fountain Place Mall.
