BELO - The Lenore Volunteer Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon.

According to LVFD Chief Jeff “Skip” Ferris, Janice Adkins of Dunlow was pulling onto U.S. 119 from St. Rte. 65 at Belo, driving a Ford Focus.

Kathy Hatfield of Williamson was driving a 2003 Pontiac, traveling south on 119, when she attempted to pull onto 65.

The Ford struck the Pontiac in the left rear of the vehicle, Ferris said.

Adkins was transported by Stat Ambulance to Williamson Memorial Hospital. The extent of her injuries remains unknown. Hatfield refused medical treatment at the scene.

No citations were issued. LVFD had five volunteers respond to the accident.
