Thanks Dr. Endicott
Dear Editor:
It was great to see one of our elected school board members, Dr. (J.W.) Endicott, support the Mingo County School Levy. He was the only member who voted in favor of holding an election to renew the levy.
Without this levy, the Mingo County school employees would have had to take a huge decrease in salary. Also, our children and parents would have to pay for textbooks and school supplies. Other school programs would have been diminished greatly, such as athletics, band, field trips, etc.
The four Mingo County School Board members who opposed the school levy election should have to answer for their opposition, which would have been detrimental to all school employees.
Bill Duty, who appeared to be the most vocal of the group, is a retired educator who got all the previous benefits of the school levy when he taught. He did not support the present school employees in their need of this levy. He continues to fight against consolidation, which had no bearing on this levy. He seems to support his own ego. I think all school employees should remember this action on our next Mingo County School Board election.
Thanks to all Mingo Citizens who went to the polls and voted for this school levy.

Christian
voters for Obama, repent!
Dear Editor:
While I shared a desire with my Christian brothers and sisters throughout America to have a black president, I was very discouraged that party affiliation and ethnic background were more important to many than the Word of God when voting for America’s 44th president.
My main point is that followers of Christ, especially preachers of the Gospel, cannot support abortion or the gay lifestyle, which our newly sworn-in (on the Bible) President Obama does. May the “change (that) has come to America” include repentance by all wavering Christians, including President Obama.
