Edna Hunt, 95, of Taylorsville, Ky., formerly of the Pond Creek area, died Jan. 26, 2009 at the Oaklawn Nursing & Rehab Center in Louisville, Ky.

Edna was born Feb. 24, 1913 in Pike County, Ky., to the late Charley Garland and Matilda Dials Garland.

Besides her parents, Edna was preceded in death by husband Earl Hunt; brothers Huey, Dewey, & Arthur Garland; and sisters Anna Dotson and Millie Runyon.

She was a former cook for the Pike County Board of Education having cooked at the former McVeigh Grade School and the current Runyon Elementary School. Edna was an avid bowler,and loved bowling with the Senior Citizen’s League. While a resident of the Pond Creek area,she enjoyed traveling with the Senior Citizens Center on trips; and she was a member of the former

McVeigh 1st Church of God.

Survivors include a loving daughter, with whom she made her home, Karen (Doug) Howell of Taylors-ville, Ky., two grandchildren, Dara (Jeff Klucas) Howell of Louisville, Ky., and Derick (Sara) Howell of Lakewood, Ohio; one great-grandson, Jacob Klucas of Louisville, Ky.

Services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009 at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Franklin Mounts officiating.

Interment will follow at the Garland Family Plot in the Coeburn Point Cemetery at Huddy, Ky. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Friends may visits from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
