CHARLESTON (AP) — A double whammy of snow and ice is heading for West Virginia.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for at least 22 counties until noon Wednesday.

Snow is expected to arrive after midnight Monday, then change to sleet and freezing rain before turning to rain later Tuesday in some areas.

Accumulations of up to 8 inches of snow and a quarter inch of ice is possible in the warning area.
