Fred Osendott Jr., 91, of Inez, Ky., formerly of Kermit, died Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Three Rivers Medical Center, Louisa, Ky.
Born February 22, 1921, in Logan County, he was a son of the late Fred Sr. and Mary Osendott.
He was a mechanic and a World War II army veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Faye Sammons, Mildred Marcum and Joan Brewer; and a brother, Curtis Osendott.
Survivors include his wife Edith Osendott, of Inez; two sons, Billy Osendott of Inez and Kenny (Sarah) Osendott of Milton, Fla.; one daughter, Lisa (Teddy) Paynter of Inez; three brothers, Gene Osendott of Florida, Thurman “Buddy” Osendott of Auburn, Wash. and Jackie Osendott of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Patricia Bolar of Columbus; one grandson, Will Osendott of Inez; great-granddaughter Kayleigh Alyssa Osendott and great-grandson Layne Alexander Osendott.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 3, at the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield Chapel, at 4 p.m. for family and at 6 p.m. for the public. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at the Warfield Chapel with Lonnie Smith and Danny Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Osendott Cemetery, Inez.
