Geneva Bowling, of Phelps, Ky., passed away Sunday, January 23, 2012, at South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born December 20, 1926, at Phelps, to the late Robert Wolford and Bessie Coleman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Bowling; two grandchildren, Mitchell Gerald Bowling and Kathy Bowling; daughter-in-law, Erma Bowling; sisters, Bonnie Stumbo, Georgia Stiltner, and Norcie Wolford; brother, Floyd Wolford.
She was a homemaker and of the baptist faith.
She is survived by sons, Ronnie Bowling, Donnie (Glenda) Bowling and Mitch (Juanita) Bowling, all of Phelps; daughters, Linda Ferrell of Phelps and Leondria (Robbie) Prater of Stopover, Ky.; brother, Roy Lee Wolford, of Phelps; sister, Daphene Stiltner, of Phelps; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 27, at 1 p.m. at the Lord’s House Church at Phelps, with Chris Casey and Bruce Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Bowling Cemetery of Phelps. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will begin receiving friends Wednesday, January 25, at 6 p.m. and Thursday, January 26, at 6 p.m. with services to follow at 7 p.m. nightly.
