Richard Allen Poore of Statesville, N.C., was charged in 2006 in the shaking death of Richard Poore Jr. after new information came to light. The information was found in the state’s audit of hundreds of incomplete autopsy reports.
Poore, a former St. Marys resident, was convicted last June of first-degree murder.
Pleasants County Circuit Court Judge Robert Holland sentenced the 48-year-old Poore on Tuesday after denying a defense motion for a new trial.
