Dear Editor:

We have someone arrested on drug charges almost daily in the city of Williamson, or elsewhere in Pike or Mingo County.

I don't remember your newspaper mentioning who their parents were. Not very consistent are you? Is the paper so desperate for a headline and maybe a few extra sales that you are willing to stoop so low as to involve an innocent Mother, who had no knowledge of what her Son was accused of doing or what was happening.

Mr. Editor do you have children? If this had been one of your sons or daughters would the headline read? "Williamson Daily News Editor's Son or Daughter arrested on drug charges.

I think we all Know the answer to this question. It would not even make page seven.

Where is your conscience or integrity?

Mrs. Crawford is a single parent. Her husband Bill died much too early in life. She not only had the responsibility of raising her Son but also a hrandson who lives with her.

I have known Francis Crawford for over 50 years. She has been and is a honest, hard working Mother that loves her don and grandson. She provided for them as best she could and tried to teach them right from wrong.

Mrs. Crawford is a Christian who is faithful in her attendance at the East Williamson Baptist Church — where she serves as secretary to the Sunday School.

She has worked for the Mingo County Board of Education for many years. She finds time to volunteer to help with the handicapped children in Mingo County. She also is Committee Woman for the Williamson District in Mingo County, having been re-elected several times. She was elected councilwoman, for Ward # 1 in the City of Williamson.

Mr. Editor, shame, shame on you for exploiting Mrs. Crawford's good name in order to try to sell a few more papers. You owe Francis Crawford an apology.
