Kids have fun with science, art

Cookhcook@civitasmedia.comWILLIAMSON – The Carnegie Science Center of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, came to the Williamson Public Library Wednesday to showcase fun science and art experiments for local children.Wendy Brenneman, early childhood coordinator at the Carnegie Science Center, helped the event flow smoothly by aiding children through the stations and interacting with them as well. She said the day had been fun for everyone involved.“It has really been a blast,” Brenneman said. “We target preschoolers with this but, of course, we welcome children of all ages today.”

WPD to conduct DUI check points

WILLIAMSON - The Williamson Police Department will be conducting DUI sobriety checkpoints from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on July 26 and July 29. The stops will be conducted at Second Avenue and Fourth Avenue.During the check point, drivers will be checked for any other traffic infractions as well.
