FRANKFORT, Ky. — Sen. Ray S. Jones II, (D-Pikeville), recently filed a resolution urging the United States Department of Veterans Affairs to consider establishing a VA Medical Center in southeastern Kentucky.

Man dies in single-vehicle accident Chad Abshire
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Authorities say a man was killed in a single-vehicle accident in the Greasy Creek community of Pike County on Saturday.
According to the Kentucky State Police, Lonnie Keen, 69, of Shelbiana, was traveling East on Kentucky Route 3226 when his vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree.
