GOODY, Ky. — Southside Elementary School teamed up with McDonald’s in Goody, Ky. on May 2nd to raise money for its school through a “McTeacher’s Night Fundraiser”.

A team of teachers and staff members from the school worked alongside McDonald’s employees at different positions, including front counter cashiers and drive-thru order presenters. A portion of sales from the teacher’s shift totaling $1,300.00 was donated to Southside Elementary.

Southside Principal, Jill Maynard, told the Daily News she was extremely pleased with the fundraising event, and expressed her gratitude to the owners and operators of the local restaurant, Bob and Tom Hutchinson, as well as the management and staff.

“It’s so refreshing to see local business owners give back to the community, especially students,” stated Maynard. “We’re hopeful to be provided the opportunity to team up with McDonald’s for another McTeacher’s Night in the future. Thanks to the support of parents, students, and community members, the fundraiser was a huge success for our school.”
