OLD FIELD BRANCH - Two residents of Old Field Branch Road, near the community of Maher, were involved in a head-on collision in their own neighborhood that ended with neither driver being injured.
The accident occurred in the early evening hours on Wednesday.
According to information obtained from West Virginia State Police Trooper D.C. Moore, Ernest Fouch was operating a 1991 Honda Accord on Old Field Branch, which is a one-lane road, and was unable to successfully stop his vehicle and collided into the front of a 1995 Ford-F150 truck driven by Bruce Sturgill.
Although the Ford truck escaped the collision with minimal scratches and a small dent in the bumper, the Honda was not so lucky. The grill, headlights, hood and front bumper of the car received extensive damage.
Hook-n-Haul arrived on scene to remove the car from the roadway. Members of the Lenore and Chattaroy Volunteer Fire Departments assisted with clean-up of the broken glass and debris. Moore stated that he would complete the investigation and obtain statements from possible eye-witnesses before making a decision of whether a citation would be issued for failure to maintain control.
