WILLIAMSON - The Williamson Farmers Market invites area youth to have fun with activities designed for them during the King Coal Festival Saturday.
The Mingo County Diabetes Coalition is working with the Farmers Market and volunteers from AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps to host the event.
The event is called “Minute to Win It,” with activities participants will have a minute to finish.
The games are: Face the Cookie, where contestants will attempt to move cookies from their forehead to their mouth using only their face; Bobble Head with a pedometer attached to the forehead, participants move the head around to record 125 total steps in a minute; Don’t Blow the Kings, where a few contestants blow a deck of playing cards off a serving tray leaving only the kings on the tray; Back Flip, in increments of two, place pencils on the back of hand and then flip them off and catch all of them ending with 12 total pencils; and Baby Block, five wooden baby blocks are stacked on top of plastic plate balanced on top of the head.
There will also be having both jump-roping contest and hula-hooping contest, “mystery fruit identification, and food fear factory, in which kids will work to identify different fruits and vegetables using either just their sense of touch, smell or taste.
The games from 10 a.m. until about 2 p.m., and are free and open to adults and youth alike.
