WILLIAMSON - The West Virginia State Police (WVSP) are asking for information that will lead to the arrest of a male defendant who was indicted by the Mingo County Grand Jury and has thus far, managed to elude capture.
John David (Jaydee) Crumbacker, formerly of the Dingess area, was indicted on 1 count of child neglect resulting in serious bodily injury. These charges stemmed from an investigation that involved an 18 month-old toddler receiving life threatening injuries at the hands of his mother, Melissa Forbes, (also indicted and jailed) and the defendant, Crumbacker who was involved in a personal relationship with Forbes.
The child and his sibling were removed from the home and are now wards of the state. The mother has been incarcerated in the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden on a $50,000 bond since her arrest in September of 2012, and is scheduled to stand trial on these charges in March of this year.
Crumbacker is believed to be in the Columbus, Ohio area, but has ties to the Dingess community where the alleged crime occurred. The wanted man is described as being approximately 5’6” tall and weighs in the vicinity of 200 lbs. He has blond hair and blue eyes.

You may remain anonymous if you do not wish to give your name; the troopers are only interested in acquiring subject matter that will help them locate this fugitive.
“Child neglect and abuse is something that we take very serious within the judicial system in Mingo County,” stated C. Michael Sparks, Mingo County’s Prosecuting Attorney. “We’re hopeful that the public will once again, step forward and provide information that will lead the West Virginia State Police to John Crumbacker.”
