The Williamson Fire Department recovered the body of an unknown male from Tug River Saturday. The body has not be identified.

WILLIAMSON - Fishermen made a gruesome discovery on the Tug River Saturday morning when they sighted a body in the water.
Derek Hayes and his brother Bryson Preece had been fishing on different spots when they went from the railroad tracks to a sandbar just above Riverside School in West Williamson.
Bryson spotted the body about 15 feet from the bank in three feet of water.
Although the body will be sent to the Medical Examiner in South Charleston for positive identification, a man has been missing for a week, whose last known location is believed to be walking near the river at Aflex, Ky., less than a mile upstream from where the body was recovered.
Stevie Daniels was staying at the Sweet Dreams Suites last Saturday and told his wife he was walking on the river bank shortly after 9 p.m. No one has heard from him since.
West Virginia State Trooper Jeff Methany was at the scene of the recovery.
“We cannot identify the body at this time,” Methany said. “The investigation remains open.”
Kentucky State Police Detective Jimmy Anderson was at the scene but declined comment until the body could be positively identified.
Along with Tpr. Methany, the Mingo County Medical Examiner Mike Casey, the Williamson Fire Department and Williamson Police Department were at the scene.
