On Jan. 25, a video was posted to Sabrina Salzo’s Facebook, showing a Logan Walmart cashier singing. The video went viral and has, thus far, been shared close to 8,000 times.

The cashier was Kayla Slone, of Matewan, who is a part of John Carlin’s Williamson-based Lyrick Talent Group, Inc.

The popularity of the video has gone national, and it has been reported that Slone would be a guest on the Good Morning America show on Friday, Feb. 8.

Slone said that singing at work was something she does quite frequently. She said that she sings at her register, throughout the store, or anytime she is asked to.

“I’m trying my best to make it in the singing business,” Slone posted to Facebook. “I would love for that to be my career.”

She was signed by Carlin in June 2012 as the seventh musician to the group’s roster and spoke with the Daily News shortly after.

In the June interview, Slone, who then was 20, said that she had been singing since she was a mere 3-years-old in church.

When asked who she might liken herself to musically and stylistically, she said there was no one else like her.

“I’m unique,” Slone said. “I don’t try to sound like anyone else.”

The video of Slone singing can be watched at https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=108643429315259.
