Phelps High School Senior Kennedy Nicole Hager was awarded the Pike County Youth Leadership Council (PCYLC) Member of the Month designation for January.

A member of the Board of Directors of PCYLC at Phelps, Kennedy is active in many activities at her school as well.

The Member of the Month honor is awarded for outstanding dedication and service to PCYLC and its mission.

“I want my opinions to matter and my voice to be heard,” she said of PCYLC.

Kennedy wants to be a speech therapist one day and loves working with children. She has been instrumental in helping with the newly formed Olivus club, a joint venture with PCYLC and selected middle school students.
