JACKSON, Ky. (AP) — The National Weather Service in Jackson says dense fog is expected throughout much of eastern Kentucky, reducing visibility to less than a quarter of a mile.
A dense fog advisory has been issued for Thursday from 1 a.m. until 10 a.m. EDT.
The weather service says wet ground from recent rainfall combined with high pressure will cause the foggy conditions.
The advisory was issued for the following counties: Rowan, Estill, Powell, Menifee, Rockcastle, Jackson, Pulaski, Laurel, Wayne, McCreary, Whitley, Knox, Bell, Harlan, Elliott, Morgan, Johnson, Wolfe, Magoffin, Floyd, Lee, Breathitt, Knott, Owsley, Perry, Clay, Leslie, Letcher, Martin and Pike.
