The Kentucky Sate Police will be participating in the “Over the Limit, Under Arrest” mobilization which will begin on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 and will conclude at midnight on Sunday January 3, 2010.

With this statewide mobilization The Kentucky State Police will be concentrating enforcement efforts on impaired drivers. Drunk driving is one of America’s most often committed and deadliest crimes. Last year in Kentucky there were 826 highway fatalities. Of these 24 percent involved a driver or motorcycle operator with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 or higher.

Additional traffic enforcement efforts will be focused on violations including, but not limited to: speed, occupant protection, following to close and reckless driving.

During this time period The Kentucky State Police will be conducting additional safety road checks and saturation patrols will be conducted in various areas throughout the state.

you know what the problem is with these small town's?? police officer's know there's a slight chance they may pull someone over that they know ,and they may let them slide once or twice to help them out and when they do this the offender has not learned a thing and the cop just set loose a ticking time bomb that may get someone killed while his or her friend is trying to make it home ...................

i know this happens because i use to live up in canada ky and i have seen this happen many times ... they should remove these lacky deputy sherrifs in pike county and use state police for this very reason.
