Nora Lee Elswick, 93, of Rockford, Ohio, passed away at Laurels at Shane Hill, Rockfork, Ohio.

She was born May 31, 1919, at Ransom, Ky., a daughter of the late Ballard and Alice Keesee Smith.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Opie Elswick; seven brothers; and two sisters.

She was a Christian of the Baptist Faith and was a retired cook for Matewan High School.

Nora is survived by one son, James Robert Elswick of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three daughters, Alice Spahr of Morristown, Ind., Bonita Gail Clusky of Gahanna, Ohio and Betty Varney of Celina, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving friends.

Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday with Curtis Booth officiating at the R.E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky., with grandsons and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday Evening at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.
