WILLIAMSON - Do you know an individual who committed an act of kindness that stands out in your mind and that was noticed by those around you? How about someone who continuously puts the needs of their neighbors and community before their own?

If so, then you’re encouraged to nominate those deserving people for the Annual King Coal Festival Humanitarian and Community Service awards, which will be presented on Saturday, Sept. 15, during a ceremony scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on the main stage that will be set up along 1st Avenue and Logan Street in Williamson.

The Humanitarian award will go to an individual who has made a difference in the lives of those around them and the Community Service award will be presented to an individual who goes about their day-to-day life doing good for others.

All nominations must be submitted in writing before September 8th, and must contain the nominees name and a description of the basis for their nomination, meaning why you think they should receive the award. The entry must also include the person’s name, address and phone number writing the nomination so they can be contacted should their recommendation be chose as the winner.

All entries are to be mailed to the Action in Mingo (AIM) group President, Mae Stallard, at 28 Oak Street, Williamson, WV. 25661. Please be sure to note at the top of your nomination which award you are submitting information for to avoid any confusion.

For additional information regarding these awards, you may contact Stallard at 304-235-5560.
