LONDON, Ky. (AP) — A memorial service is scheduled next week for a part-time Census worker whose body was found more than a month ago in a remote Appalachian forest.

The service for Bill Sparkman will be held at 6 p.m. EDT Monday at First United Methodist Church in London. Sparkman’s friend and co-worke Gilbert Acciardo, who worked with Sparkman at a school in London, confirmed the arrangements to The Associated Press.

The state medical examiner’s office has established Sparkman’s cause of death as asphyxiation, but police investigators haven’t determined whether the death was a homicide, an accident or suicide.

Sparkman was found Sept. 12 with a rope around his neck and the word “fed” scrawled on his chest near a private family cemetery in Clay County.

May God Bless Bill Sparkman, his family, and friends.

Why has the investigation taken so long in finding Bill Sparkman's killers? Why haven't honest Kentuckians come forth and told the truth about what they saw, heard, witnessed in that forest? Kentucky people know the truth about who killed Bill Sparkman.
