NAUGATUCK - The Tug Valley Lady Panthers clawed visiting Greater Beckley Christian 59 to 13 in the John Preece Shootout Friday night.

Whitney Evans-Kirk led Tug Valley with 22 points and she pulled down seven rebounds. Hannah Armstrong flipped in 14 points and hauled in 13 rebounds, while Amber Linville added 12 points and 13 boards. Adreana Vance had eight assists to go with five rebounds and four points.

Allie Warden led GBC with nine points.

“”We played the way you’re supposed to play when you have someone out manned. Our defense gave them problems and we converted many of the turnovers into layups,” said coach Okey Smith. “We got a chance to play a lot of girls and we haven’t been able to do that much this year. Our schedule gets much harder and we will have to pick up our game on the offensive end if we want to continue the success we have had so far this season.”

Tug Valley is now 7-1 on the season and played at home against River View Saturday afternoon.

Greater Beckley is now 1-10 on the season they play Sherman at home on Monday night.
