Johnny Phillip Smith, Sr., 64, of Cumberland Furnace, Tenn., beloved husband and best friend of Linda Anderson Smith passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012, peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved beyond measure.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 17, at Sykes Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Barnes officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, and 11 a.m. until hour of service on Monday, September 17. Burial will follow at Ike Smith Cemetery.

Johnny was born February 2, 1948, in Canada, Ky., to the late Willie T. Smith and Thelma Blackburn Smith. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Craig.

He spent his life loving, supporting and living for those he loved. He was a member of Legacy Baptist Church. His heart belonged totally to God. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather.

Johnny will be especially remembered for his kind loving heart and total devotion to his family. He leaves behind his wife, Linda Anderson Smith; children, Billie “B.J.” Smith (Mitchell), Johnny Phillip Smith, Jr. (Julie), Rusty Smith (Kay), Gail Suiter (Roland); eight brothers; three sisters; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Akin, Kurt Suiter, John Baisden, Steve Shively, Kevin Criswell and Johnny Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be John Smith and Phillip Smith.
