Freeburn man killed in ATV accident

FREEBURN, Ky. – A 40-year old Pike County man was killed in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident on Friday on a rural road near Freeburn, Ky.

Kentucky State Police Post 9 in Pikeville received a call of a single vehicle accident on Staggerweed Fork Road in the Freeburn Community.

KSP Troopers responded to the scene and preliminary information obtained at the accident site indicates that, Kip Stacy 40 years old of Freeburn, Ky,. was operating his four-wheeler on Staggerweed Fork Road when he lost control of the ATV, overturned and came to rest in the creek.

Stacy was pronounced deceased at the scene by Pike County Coroner Russell Roberts. This accident remains under investigation by Trooper Joshua Cox.
