The pictured section of concrete with graffiti is part of the Berlin Wall which divided the German city for many years until it was torn down on Nov. 9, 1989. The Williamson Daily News’ senior writer, Charlotte Sanders, right, and longtime friend, the late Esther (Hatfield) Ellis of Meador and Columbus, Ohio, examined the wall and its graffiti while attending Columbus’ Ameri Flora event in 1992, less than three years after the wall was demolished. The other photo shows the reverse side of the wall and an explanation about the graffiti.
