Three of the men arrested in connection with the alleged home invasion in Baisden July 12 appeared in Magistrate Court before Magistrate Eugene Crum yesterday.

Willie Wayne McCoy, 31, of Detroit Mich, waived his right to a preliminary hearing. McCoy represented by Attorney Ron Rumora, is being charged with burglary, first-degree robbery, grand larceny, malicious wounding, first degree sexual assault, kidnapping, and conspiracy for each individual charge.

Chester Shirley Lester, 20, of Baisden, and Joshua Cantrell, 19 of Wharnecliffe, also waived their rights to a preliminary hearing. Lester, represented by Attorney Diana Carter Wiedel and Cantrell, represented by Attorney Kathy Sturgill are being charged with first-degree burglary, grand larceny, sexual assault, malicious assault, kidnapping, and conspiracy for each individual charge.

James Behalar II, 28 of Gilbert, asked for a continuance of his preliminary hearing due to not having legal counsel. Behalar was denied a court appointed attorney because of excess of income. Magistrate Crum issued a continuance of Behalar’s preliminary hearing to allow Behalar time to find legal counsel.

The four males were arrested July 13 for allegedly kicking in the door to Terry Bowles residence at Right Hand Fork in Baisden, beating Bowles with a tire iron, and taking $2,500 in currency and Oxycontin.
