Belfry head baseball coach Michael Hagy achieved the 200th win of his career as the Pirate’s baseball coach with an 11-0 mercy rule 6-inning victory at Shelby Valley Monday night.
Hagy started his career in 2005, when Belfry still played at Hardy Park. He went 12-17 in his first season. He reached win number 100 at Champion Field in Orlando, Florida on April 13, 2010, against Maloney, Connecticut by a 6-5 score.
Garrett Fannin was the leading hitter for Belfry, going 2-for-4 with 3 RBI’s. Keaton Taylor was 2-for-2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch, with 2 stolen bases and 3 runs scored.
Taylor became the first Pirate to steal 40 bases in a single season.
Joey Duty was hit by a pitch for the 15th time this season, breaking his own record of 14, set last year.
Jordan Meddings had an RBI double, while Zac Fields, Trenity Carr, Austin Dotson, Jacob Francisco and Aaron Taylor each had RBI’s.
Austin Dotson was the winning pitcher, on a complete game 3-hit shutout with 6 strikeouts and 4 walks.
Michael Fields was the losing pitcher.
