CHAPMANVILLE – The Chapmanville Tigers mercy ruled the Mingo Central Miners 14-0 on Thursday at Ted Ellis Field in Chapmanville.


The Tigers jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning and added three more runs in the 3rd frame.


William Copley, Brock Dalton, Brent Bigley, Jacob Dingess and Austin Ellis all had two hits each for the Tigers. Chapmanville banged out 12 hits in the game. One of Bigley’s hits was a home run.


Tristian Thompson, Andrew Bias and Dingess each smacked doubles.


Michael Dotson and Tyler Harrison had the only two hits for Mingo Central. Both hits were doubles.


Kenny Allen took the loss for the Miners. Caleb Spencer came in to relieve Allen.


As a team Chapmanville had 12 hits and 12 RBIs in the game.


Austin Ellis got the win on the mound for the Tigers. Ellis struck out five batters in only two innings. Chris Bailey, Nick Brumfield and Joe Zigmond all pitched an inning for CRHS.


Mingo Central (0-2) is slated to play at Belfry on Tuesday.
