BUCKLEY’S CREEK, Ky. – The Pike County Central (PCC) Hawks completed a season sweep of the Belfry Pirates 60-53 in the 60th District championship game at the PCC gym on Thursday.

The Hawks had edged by Belfry in the two regular season contests between the rivals.

Andrew Fields had a game high 27 points to lead PCC, while Alex Holbrook chipped in 11. Ethan Blackburn pulled down a game high 11 rebounds and added 5 points for the Hawks.

Garrett Fannin led Belfry with 24 points, while Cole Bentley added 10 for the Pirates. Dawson Isom and Cameron Catron each chipped in 6 points.

Bentley had 6 rebounds, while Isom had 4 assists.

Belfry shot 42 percent from the floor and 2-6 at the foul line for 33 percent.

Pike Central shot 55 percent from the field and made 11-20 foul shots for 55 percent.

Belfry (8-18), the district runner-up, will still advance to the 15th Region tournament this week at the EXPO Center in Pikeville starting this week. The pairings were held on Saturday morning.

PCC is 15-10 and will advance to the event as 60th District champs.
