NAUGATUCK – The Tug Valley Panthers picked up another big regular season win as they defeated visiting Valley of Fayette 42-39 to improve to 13-5 on the season.
It was Senior Night and Tug’s lone 12th grader Thomas Baisden had another big night with a leading the team with 18 points And 8 rebounds.
Calvin Blankenship chipped in 7 in the low scoring contest. TVHS shot 17-50 from the field for 34 percent and 6-12 from the foul line for 50 percent.
Tug only led 20-18 at the half and held on to win in the second half thwarting a comeback effort by the Greyhounds.
Zac Warden led Valley of Fayette with 19 points.
The Panthers travel to Mingo Central Tuesday night for a rematch with their county rival.

Charleston Catholic 50, Tug Valley 32
Senior Hannah Armstrong led Tug Valley with 3 points and 12 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as visiting Charleston Catholic downed the Lady Panthers 50-32.
Emily Baisden and Taylor Parsley each added 5 points, while Adreana Vance chipped in 4. Tug Valley begins sectional tourney play at home on Monday. (See related story)
