Belfry 43, Mingo Central 33


GOODY, Ky. – The Lady Pirates of Belfry defeated local rival Mingo Central 43-33 in the Debbie Hunter Memorial Lady Pirate Invitational on Saturday, December 21st.


Emily Baker led Belfry with 13 points, while Jaden Cisco added 10 and Candice Gilman 8 points.


Belfry trailed 8-3 after one quarter, but outscored the Lady Miners 20-4 in the second quarter to take the lead. The two teams played virtually even in the second half, but Mingo Central could not overcome the deficit they had at the half.


Kaitlyn Day led Mingo with 15 points, while Ashley Curry chipped in 8 points.


Belfry will play in the State Farm Classic Dec. 26, 27 and 28th of this week at Conner, Ky.


Mingo Central will play host to Poca on Thursday.

Lawrence County 66, Tug Valley 62


LOUISA, Ky. – The Lady Panthers lost a close one at Lawrence County, Ky. 66-62 this past Friday.


No details or stats from the game were called or sent in.


Tug Valley does not play again until January 3rd at Cross Lanes Christian.
