LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky’s eight highly touted freshmen will get a lot of national exposure during Southeastern Conference play.

The Wildcats’ SEC road opener at Vanderbilt on Jan. 11 will mark the first of 14 nationally televised league games between ESPN’s networks and CBS. But it’s their only meeting against the Commodores on a docket missing home-and-home games against traditional rivals since divisional play has been scrapped.

For example, Kentucky’s Jan. 18 meeting against Tennessee at Rupp Arena is the season’s only meeting between the schools. The Wildcats will face Florida twice, though, along with Mississippi State, Arkansas, LSU and Ole Miss.

Kentucky’s rookie class, featuring six McDonald’s All-Americans, is scheduled for 20 national TV appearances including the Dec. 28 showdown against archrival and defending NCAA champion Louisville at Rupp.

Kentucky’s schedule:

Nov. 8, UNC Asheville; Nov. 10, Northern Kentucky; Nov. 12, vs. Michigan State (at Chicago); Nov. 17, Robert Morris; Nov. 19, Texas-Arlington; Nov. 25, Cleveland State; Nov. 27, Eastern Michigan.

Jan. 8, Mississippi State; Jan. 11, at Vanderbilt; Jan. 14, at Arkansas; Jan. 18, Tennessee; Jan. 21, Texas A&M; Jan. 25, Georgia; Jan. 28, at LSU.
