CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Travis Wendell Bannister, 31, of Chapmanville, departed this earthly home on Dec .7, 2013, at his residence.


Born July 3, 1982, he was a son of Tommy and Kim (Peyton) Bannister of Chapmanville. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Wendell Bannister and uncle, David Bannister; mother, Kim McNeely; maternal grandparents Acie Sr. and Goldie McNeely; aunt, Claire Bevino and cousin, Josh Bevino; mamaw and papaw, Drury and Adda Peyton.


Travis was a 2000 Graduate of Scott High School, where he was a member of the SHS Baseball team, Eagle’s Nest Partner and an honor student. He was a former employee of Delta Electric Inc. at Logan. Travis loved swimming and all watersports. His enjoyed watching the History Channel, movies, doing homework with his daughter Kaylee, golfing with his dad and loved family dinners and gatherings. Travis was a very loving son, brother, spouse and father with a Heart of Gold.


In addition to his loving parents, Tom and Kim (Peyton) Bannister, Travis is survived by the two Great Loves of his life, fiancée Tiffany McCoy and his only daughter, Kaylee Brooke Bannister; step-son Malachi; three brothers, Whitney Paul Bannister of Danville, Ryan (Amber) Miller of Lakeland, Fla. and Justin Miller of Chapmanville; sister, Erika (Nick) Mullins of Chapmanville; nephew, Logan; nieces, Ciara and Marli; paternal grandmother Jeanie Bannister, of Scott Depot, in-laws Linda and Paul Lee of Whitman and Tim and Kay McCoy of Garrett’s Fork; aunts and uncles, Rev. Donnie and Annetta Bannister of Speedwell, Tenn., Phillip and Becky Bannister of Whitman, Acie McNeely of North Mitchell Heights, Wenda and Gary Kerns of St. Pete, Fla., Dr. Tammy Bannister of Scott Depot, Joyce Bannister of Chapmanville, Becky Dingess of Chapmanville, Doris Peyton (Jerry Price) of Danville, and Valerie (Tony) Stevens of Albany, Ga. and Janet McNeely of Logan; great uncle, Ronnie “Jim ” Bannister of Ohio; cousins Tara and Eric Hughes, Tiffany and Dustin Seabolt, Joseph Kerns, Amanda and Lacy Joe Deskins, Jennifer Bannister, Jeremy Bannister, Meghan Nagy, Caroline and Jacob Moses, Missi Dingess, Kevin and Britney Dingess, Chad and April Hassler, Renae and Jason Berry, Matt and Tammy Stevens, Heather Stevens, Grace, Faith and Hope Bannister and Joey Bevino.


Honorary Pallbearers will be Leonard Bolton, Layton Lockhart, John Hawse, Bill Brown, Phillip Meade and Justin Miller.


Pallbearers will be Nick Mullins, Chad Hassler, Kevin Dingess and Joey Bevino, Jimmy Rogers and Justin Brown, Phillip Bannister, Jerry Price and Brad Hunt.


Those of us who knew and loved Travis will never forget his sweet hugs and what a great big heart he had. He will be forever in our hearts and memories.


Visitation will be Thursday December 12, 2013, 6 - 9 p.m., at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services Chapel At Chapmanville.


Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Donnie Bannister assisted by Bro. Rick Adkins.


Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville are in charge of arrangements.
