GILBERT - Troopers with the West Virginia State Police are requesting the public’s assistance to identify the potential victims of a man accused of numerous sexual offenses against children in the Tri-State area that could be spread over a multi-county radius.
According to a release from the Williamson Detachment of the state police, on Nov. 29, a search warrant and seven felony arrest warrants were executed for Cameron Tyler Ellis, 22, at his parents’ home on the outskirts of Gilbert. At the same time, a search warrant was executed by troopers at an apartment in Huntington, where the defendant was known to reside, troopers said.
Among the charges brought against Ellis were possession of child pornography, solicitation of sex from a minor via computer, and use of obscene matter to seduce a child.
There are multiple juvenile victims, according to troopers, who say they have uncovered information that makes them believe there are additional victims who have not yet come forward. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected to be filed against Ellis as the case progresses.
If anyone has any information regarding a child that has allegedly suffered harm at Ellis’ hands, they should contact Trooper J. R. Tupper at the Williamson Detachment of the state police at 304-235-6000. If they wish to provide information anonymously, their identity will not be disclosed.
