WILLIAMSON - Are you a master baker? Do your desserts get rave reviews? If that’s the case and you would like to pit your talents in the kitchen against others in the local community, the “Great White Way Holiday Bake-Off” is the place you need to be this Saturday, Dec. 7th.
According to event coordinator, Frances Frye, this year’s contest will be held at the Cinderella Theatre, which is located on 3rd Avenue in Williamson as part of the “Great White Way” annual Christmas celebration. Entries must be delivered to the Theatre no later than 2 p.m. on the 7th, and must be packaged in a non-returnable dish. Judging will take place at 3 p.m. and the prizes will be awarded during the “Visit with Santa” which begins at approximately 6 p.m., directly following the conclusion of the parade.
Categories this year will include cakes, candy, cookies and miscellaneous desserts. First place winners in each category will take home $100 for their efforts, 2nd place will win $50 and those who place third will claim a $25 prize.
The homemade treats will be distributed to the public during the “Visit with Santa” event, and delicious chili and cold soft drinks will also be served.
For additional information, you may contact Frye at the Williamson City Hall between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. by calling 304-235-1510.
