Aaron Joseph Scott, 36, of Holden, was arrested and charged with grand larceny, breaking and entering and obstructing.
Logan County Sheriff’s deputies were contacted by 911, to respond to the boulevard for a male who had just run from the AEP lot with a roll of wire.
The officers found the man running in the median away from the AEP lot. The officers had the workers come to the scene to identify the man. After he was identified, the officers attempted to place the defendant under arrest, but he became beligerant, and started cursing the officers. The officers sprayed the defendant with a one-second burst of pepper spray to gain control and place him into the police cruiser.
The officers spoke with the witnesses and found the defendant had taken two rolls of wire, a tank and a gas grill, two little mule belt hoists, a little mule wire grip, a set of torch gauges and torch heads. These items were valued at a total of $2,000.
The defendant took these items from inside the AEP lot and put them outside the fence, in order to retrieve them later, after being seen by the witnesses.
This arrest record is public information. An arrest does not mean the individual identified has been convicted of a crime. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
