CLEAR FORK - Mingo Central’s men’s tennis team beat Westside 7- Love, while the Central ladies lost 4-3 on Tuesday evening at Westside High School.


Miner’s No. 1 seed Julius Hatcher won 8 - Love, No. 2 seed Kyle Surber won 8 -1, No. 3 seed Brennon Slone fought back from 6-3 down to win 9-7 in a tiebreaker and No. 4 seed Dakota Rawls also won his singles match.


In doubles action the duo of Hatcher/Surber won 8 - 2, the team of Slone/Rawls and Steven Clark/Joey Wellman also won their doubles matches for the Miners.


In the lady’s action, No. 2 seed Maria Ramey 8- 1, No. 3 seed Kaitlyn Johnson 8- 1 both won their singles matches. Megan Taylor lost 8-8 (7to 4 tiebreaker), while No. 3 seed Ariel Ritchie/Johnson won in doubles for the Mingo Central ladies.
