Matthews just completed his junior year of high school football for Airline High School in Bossier City, Louisiana. A defensive tackle, Matthews is the son of Geanine Fluty, who was a standout basketball player at the old Chattaroy Junior High School and later at Belfry High School. His grandmother was the late Geneva (James) Fluty. Charley Matthews, 6'1”, 280 lbs., was the All-District Defensive MVP and All-State selection for the Class 5A school. He is being recruited by several colleges, according to his mother.
