On October 20th the Tug Valley Bass Anglers held its eighth tournament of the 2013 season on Yatesville Lake in Louisa, Kentucky with 25 anglers competed in the event.
Yatesville Lake was at normal summer pool with a water temperature in the low 60’s. The lake was turning over on the lower end with stained water conditions on the upper end.
Weather for the tournament was good with sunny skies and an air temperature in the low 60’s.
Yatesville has been tough for the last several weeks and tournament day was no better. It was the first day after a cold front and the fish were really in a negative mood, they would not eat anything. Most fish were caught in the creeks in 1 to 8 feet of water.
The main pattern for this tournament was to fish spinnerbaits and top water first thing in the morning and slow down and fish tight to cover with soft plastics after the sun came out.
The top finishers are as follows.
1st —Aaron Fortner —- (2 fish) 5.79 lbs.
2nd —Kevin Runyon —- (2 fish) 5.53 lbs.
