LOGAN - The King Coal Staff and the participating teams have all been working hard to prepare for what is shaping up to be another exciting night of basketball at the Willie Akers Arena in the Logan Memorial Fieldhouse. The tournament will be held on January 11th.


This year’s King Coal Classic Basketball Tournament will feature 3 games on Saturday night. The action tips off at 4pm with a college game between Fairmont State University (Girls) vs. Concord University (Girls), at 6pm Logan High School (Girls) vs. Chapmanville High School (Girls) and at 8pm Logan High School (Boys) vs. Point Pleasant High School.


Former Scott High School All-Stater Makenzie White is a sophomore guard for Fairmont State.


In addition to the games, several other events are planned in conjunction with the tournament.


A portion of the tournament proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House and Team Skyler.


All area Buddy League Basketball players will get in free on Saturday (with a paying adult).


There will be lots of contests and prizes for all ages.
