Mingo’s Lee leads Cardinal Conference in scoring

Mingo Central senior forward Alex Lee is leading the Cardinal Conference in scoring after the first couple of weeks of the regular season.


Lee, who was recently named 2nd team All-State in football, is averaging 18 ppg after the first six games.


The 6’3” leaper also made the state finals in the 100 and 200 meter races in track and has been a standout on the baseball diamond.


Lee is also averaging about 10 rebounds a game for the Miners of coach Brad Napier.


Alex is affectionately known as “Booger” by his teammates and coaches. Napier said Lee has been a leader this season and his game has been steady.


The Cardinal Conference is made up of eight Class 2A teams. Mingo Central is the newest member of the league.


Currently Mingo Central is in last place in the conference. They are 0-2 in the league and 1-5 overall.
