WILLIAMSON - With 28 precincts now in and counted, the local Mingo County races are as follows.
Circuit Judge: Miki Thompson is leading by 37.82 percent, with Jonathan “Duke” Jewell not far behind at 28.01. Robert Carlton has 23.44 percent, followed by Teresa McCune with 10.73.
County Commission Race: For the expired term, Incumbent Greg “Hootie” Smith is now leading by 51.33, with Lonnie Hannah close behind with 48.67.
For the unexpired County Commission Race term, “Big Jim” Hatfield leads with 45.67 percent, followed by Incumbent Mike Carter, 37.92. Dave Justice brings up the rear with 16.41.
Prosecuting Attorney: The race is now a close one, with Incumbent Teresa Maynard taking the lead with 45.25 percent, with Charles “Butch” West close behind with 43.20 percent. Wes White has 11.55 percent.
Sheriff: Incumbent James Smith has an impressive lead with 81.36 percent, with challenger Roy Tiller receiving 18.64.
Magistrate: Jim Harvey leads the pack with 30.77 percent, followed by Thomas Taylor with 26.09 percent, next is Scott Smith with 22.92, followed by Michelle Webb at 14.15 percent, and last is Colin Kelley with 6.07 percent.
For the District 20 House of Delegates race, Incumbent Justin Marcum leads his challenger Mike Baisden with a 68.66 to 31.34 percent margin.
The next update will be at approximately 10:15 p.m. Three precincts are still out, one of those being the Justice District, and downed trees and mudslides are hampering their travels.
