May’s cover of Wonderful West Virginia magazine showcases the work of renowned photographer Randall Sanger with the setting sun illuminating abundant flowers along the King Coal Highway in Mingo County.

Sanger is a native of Williamson.

“We are pleased to present a few of Randall Sanger’s striking landscape images in this month’s issue as well - his first Gallery for Wonderful West Virginia Magazine,” the magazine stated.

“I am honored to have my work featured in the May edition of my favorite publication - Wonderful West Virginia magazine. This magazine was the instrument that sparked my interest in exploring West Virginia as well as capturing the amazing natural beauty found in this great state,” Sanger said.

“To this day, I eagerly await each issue, and it is very special and means a lot to me to see my image on the cover and a few more of my images in the Gallery section, and many thanks to the good folks of Wonderful West Virginia Magazine for selecting my work for the May issue,” he said.

Sanger is a landscape photographer and is co-author of the award-winning book, West Virginia Waterfalls: The New River Gorge, and is currently working on several additional titles.

Sanger conducts photography workshops and tours throughout West Virginia and beyond. His images have appeared in several print publications, both regional and national, are in private and corporate collections, and have been used for numerous advertising and marketing campaigns. He has worked with several advertising/marketing agencies, and his most recent assignment was covering the 2013 National Boy Scout Jamboree.

Sanger was selected as Photographer in Residence of the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge for the month of June, 2010. He is a juried fine arts photographer with Tamarack: The Best of West Virginia, located in Beckley.

His work has been exhibited in several juried shows, including Tamarack: The Best of West Virginia 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Sanger lives in Williamson with his wife, Melissa, and his trusty hiking companion Rocky, their mixed-breed dog. View his work at www.randallsanger.com and www.facebook.com/randallsangerphotography.
