Based on a Twitter post and an interview with 106.3 The Big One, Westboro Baptist Church will be in Middlesboro today to protest the funeral of Pastor Jamie Coots. Coots died at his home on Saturday following a snakebite.

In a interview with Brian O’ Brien, Westboro Baptist Church member Fred Phelps Jr. said their mission is to preach and also claimed that Coots was a “false prophet.”

“They’re is nothing in this day and age that has anything to do with handling snakes,” said Phelps in an interview with Brian O’Brien.

Coots funeral is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. tonight with visitation taking place between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The Westboro Baptist Church, who is notorious for speaking out against homosexuality, plans to head to Akron, Ohio following their demonstration. They plan to protest the suspension of a Kent State wrestler who spoke out against a homosexual football player at Columbia.
