WILLIAMSON - A New Boston, Ohio, man who had been reported missing earlier this week was found Wednesday night in Williamson and appeared to be uninjured, but complained that he was freezing from the cold temperatures and snow that found their way back into the Tug Valley area overnight.

New Boston police have released information saying that they were contacted Wednesday night by Williamson police officers who reported they had located James Lewis, 39, who told them he had hopped a coal train near his home and had ridden it to the Williamson area.

A Williamson police officer had spotted Lewis alongside the tracks and took him to Williamson Memorial Hospital for observation and treatment of possible hypothermia.

Earlier on Wednesday, New Boston police received a call from a man who lives in Wheelersburg, Ohio, who said he saw Lewis walking along railroad tracks Monday toward the Greenup Dam Bridge in Kentucky. That man did not know Lewis had been reported missing at the time, but later called New Boston police after he found out.

Lewis’s family expressed their appreciation to those who found him and saw that he was safely returned home.
