Despite the rain over 100 runners turned out for the annual Frank O’Brien 5-K which is held during the King Coal Festival. The race was held in West Williamson at the community college and the flood wall. Runners received T-shirts and the top place finishers received trophies and medals. Many family of the O’Brien family took part in the run. Tug Valley Road Runners Club president and organizer David Hatfield is shown talking to the runners before they started. (The WDN will have more on that story later this week.)
